Upcoming Projects

This is an important first step as we continue to make our church a vital part of the Baydon community and will allow us to expand the building’s use, to make all villagers welcome and to house a wider range of events.

The Chancel and South Aisle roofing is felt that is at the end of its life. The plan is to replace with terne coated stainless steel similar to the Nave and North Aisle

We continue to monitor and evaluate structural support solutions like a piled buttress. Meanwhile minimal scaffolding will remain in place.

Improving the lighting will make for safer access to the church, particularly in the winter evenings and will be done in a sympathetic way that minimizes light intrusion and protects the churchyard.

The vestry stonework is is a poor state of repair and the slate roof is beginning to leak. We plan to repair the stonework and replace the roof and guttering to arrest further deterioration

On completion of the structural repairs, careful restoration of the interior of the church will proceed using traditional methods
